Gunite
Fully custom shape and size, very durable, and the most design options. Typically the highest upfront cost and longest build time. The interior finish is refreshed periodically.
Fiberglass
Fast installation, smooth low-maintenance surface, and often lower chemical use. Shapes and sizes are limited to available shells, and access for a crane is needed.
Vinyl liner
Usually the lowest upfront cost and a soft surface underfoot. The liner will need replacing at some point, which is a long-term cost to plan for.
